Tashahhud

Tashahhud Is Actually The Salutation That Took Place Between Allaah Ta'ala And His Messenger, Muhammad (saw) And The Testimony Made By Angel Gabriel During The Prophet's Al-Isra' Wal Miraj - [His (saw) Night Journey And Ascension To The Heavens]. 


In The Prophet's Night Journey, When He Reached A Certain Place He Could Reach In The High Heavens before Allaah he commenced the Salutation:-

"At-tahiyyaatu Lil-laahi Was-Salawaatu Wat-tayyibaat."

(To Allaah Belong All Greetings, Prayers And Everything Good)

Allaah Ta'ala replies:

"As-salaamu 'Alayka Ayyuhan-Nabiyyu Wa Rahmatullaahi Wabarakaatuh."

(Peace Be Upon You, O Prophet, And The Mercy Of Allah And His Blessings)

The Prophet Of Mercy (saw) Then Said:

"As-salaamu 'Alaynaa Wa 'Ala'Ibaadil Laahis Saaliheen."

(Peace Be Upon Us And Upon All The Righteous Servants Of Allaah)

[Note: When Allah Sent His Mercy and Blessings Upon The Prophet (saw), The Prophet Of Mercy Extended That To (US) And All Righteous Servants Of Allaah].

Upon Witnessing This Salutation Between Allah Ta'ala And The Prophet (saw) Arch Angel Gabriel Made A Testimony:-

"Ash-hadu Al-laa Ilaaha Illal-laahu Wa Ash-hadu Anna MuhammadAn 'Abduhoo Wa Rasooluh"

(I Witness That There Is No god Except Allaah, And I Witness That Muhammad Is His Servant And His Messenger)
