Sec. Kerry Praises Brutal Junta Dictatorship in Egypt By Scott Creighton

During a visit to Cairo on Sunday, Secretary of State John Kerry urged military leaders, including Gen. Abdul-Fattah el-Sisi, right, to stick to their “road map.”

The pretense is over. The U.S. backed illegal military coup in Egypt which overthrew the democratically elected government is now codified by the Obama administration as a legitimate government worthy of Sec. John Kerry’s praise.

Thousands have died and many more disappeared into the old Mubarak style secret police detention systems brought back by al-Sisi when he took power after being given the go-ahead by Kerry and other high ranking Obama administration officials.

The constitution which was purposefully written by the Morsi government to prohibit IMF austerity reforms and safeguard worker’s rights in Egypt, is gone. Torn up. Being rewritten by technocrats with neoliberalism and free market reforms at the forefront of their concerns. al-Sisi has cracked down on the tunnels leading into Gaza which the Palestinians have come to depend on for providing the bare necessities of life in the largest open air prison in the world.

State sponsored murder, brutal police state actions, the rise of the power of the entrenched oligarchs of Egypt, the return of the Mubarak secret police force and near universal misery in store for working class Egyptians and imprisoned Palestinians Gaza alike.

And the “progressive” billionaire John Kerry has nothing but praise for the new Egypt and her leadership.

“We are committed to work with and we will continue our cooperation with the interim government,” Mr Kerry told a joint news conference with the Egyptian foreign minister Nabil Fahmy.

The US secretary of state was in Cairo to shore up ties with a key ally and ensure it moves ahead on plans to restore democracy, just weeks after Washington partly suspended aid to Egypt.

“The United States is a friend of the people of Egypt, of the country of Egypt, and we are a partner,” he said.” The National

Kerry is providing the illegal government of Egypt a valuable service. He showed up just a day prior to the show trial they are about to put on where they will charge and convict Morsi with the requisite trumped up accusations while the civilized world watches in disbelief and astonishment. Of course, Kerry as a representative of the Obama administration is there to provide the brutal dictatorship with much needed credibility before this fiasco kicks off.
