Do not take sins lightly, even if you think they are small!
Allah تعالى says:
وَكُلُّ شَىْءٍ فَعَلُوهُ فِى الزُّبُرِ * وَكُلُّ صَغِيرٍ وَكَبِيرٍ مُّسْتَطَرٌ
"And everything they have done is noted in (their) Records (of deeds). And everything, small and big, is written down." -
[Surah al-Qamar (54): 52-53]
The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: "O `Aaishah رضي الله عنه !
Beware of small sins, because there is someone assigned by Allah who records them." -
[Sunan Ibn Maajah (3440) and graded as "Saheeh" by Shaikh al-Albaanee in al-Saheehah (513, 2731)]
`Abdullah bin Mas`ood رضي الله عنه said:
"A believer sees his sins as if he were sitting under a mountain which, he is afraid, may fall on him; whereas the wicked person considers his sins as flies passing over his nose and he just drives them away like this."
